Beefalo is a cross between domestic cows and the North American Bison. A full- blood Beefalo does not contain less than 3/8 Bision. While it is as tender and tasty as beef, Beefalo offers many benefits for the health-conscious consumer. Beefalo produces a carcass that contains less fat and cholesterol than any bovine bred in the U.S. The exceptional quality of Beefalo meat has been recognized by the USDA and was acknowledged in 1985 when it approved a "roll stamp" identification of "Beefalo Beef" which is applied to the
carcass during processing.
Merrill Cattle Company "Beefalo Meats" won the "American Royal" national steak competition for the best tasting steaks in America in 2012 and 2013 for the GRASS-FED division. That's 2 years running! In 2014 we received reserve champion in the same division.

About Us
Beefalo Meats, is a division of Merrill Cattle Company, a family operated ranch. We recognized the unaddressed dilemma of high cholesterol in red meat and saw an opportunity to provide the consumer with an alternative. Our Beefalo are raised in eastern Washington on an "all natural grass fed diet". We certify that no hormones, steroids, antibiotics or animal by-products are given to our cattle.

Health Benefits
Beefalo offers up to 6 times less cholesterol, 1/2 the calories, and up to 4 times less fat than beef. It is the only red meat shown through a university study to help lower LDL cholesterol levels. It has a healthier makeup of fat than beef and is raised with an all natural grass fed diet.
Weight Watchers gives Beefalo 1 point whereas Beef and Chicken start at 2 points.
